Recent Turbine Failures
As you may be aware, a small number of Evoco turbines have shed blades during recent storms.
The cause of the issue has been identified and Evoco have issued the following letter to customers.
We are pleased to say that of the turbines Scaled Energy have installed, none have been directly affected.
Summary
Evoco's 10kW wind turbine is designed for simplicity and reliability. It has a large rotor diameter of 9.7m resulting in excellent energy production normal UK wind speeds.
- It will generate between 20,000kWh and 30,000kWh at the typical site, reaching over 40,000kWh in exceptional cases.
- The Evoco 10 will connect to Single, Dual or Split and Three Phase supplies using inverters.
- A typical full project cost for the Evoco 10 is £47,500 (ex VAT).

Annual Energy Production (AEP)
The energy production of the Evoco 10 is affected by the average annual wind speed that it experiences. The chart below shows the estimated annual generation of the Evoco 10 wind turbine at varying annual mean wind speeds.
Example wind speeds (at hub height):
